Priceline's Beauty Guru - Annette McKenzie

30 Days Team
Monday, July 19, 2010

Priceline is excited to welcome its first ever Beauty Editor, internationally-renowned hair and makeup artist Annette McKenzie. Annette will be answering your beauty queries throughout 30 Days of Fashion & Beauty so post your question below this article!

"My career began in Sydney 22 years ago, working on photographic shoots for teen magazines Cleo, Cosmo and Dolly.

For the next five years, I was based in London creating hair and makeup for some of Europe's most prestigious couture publications like British, German and French Elle and German Vogue, Tatler and Arena. It was the early 90s and I was lucky to work with some of the era's supermodels including Elle MacPherson, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss and Helena Christensen.

Returning to Australia for a short break, I was planning my next move - to the USA. Then I met my husband and I've been working on home soil ever since!

Nowadays, I do hair and makeup for Madison, Marie Claire and Instyle and have the privilege of working regularly with our brilliant homegrown Aussie talent like Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Delta Goodrem and Portia De Rossi.

I feel genuinely blessed: it's been an incredibly exciting (and often glamorous) career. And whilst it's taken me to some amazing international locations and I've met some of the world's most recognisable stars, I couldn't imagine living and working anywhere but Australia. Home is where the heart is and I'm happy to be here with my husband and two gorgeous kids.

As for my new role as Priceline's Beauty Editor, I am so excited! I can't wait to experiment with all those amazing hair, cosmetic and skincare finds and share my tried and true tips and seasonal catwalk trends.

Annette will be answering your questions throughout August and September! Post your query below!
