Q. Congratulations on being named the spokesmodel of 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty 2012. You must be delighted to be involved in such an awesome campaign?
It really is a dream come true! I started my career at Dolly which is part of the ACP family and love the integrated approach this incredible campaign is offering the consumers, so many events, so many opportunities, you would be mad not to get involved - it's very exciting!!!
Q. Which events are you most excited about attending?
I would definetly say the launch event next Thursday at Lower Town Hall, I can't wait to be part of it and for everybody to get excited about what is happening during September. And of course Show Day Weekend on the 1st and 2nd September, 16 fashion shows across 2 days and all for FREE! It's an event not to be missed.
Q. Who are you favourite designers both in Australia and overseas?
I love Australian designers Dion Lee, Ellery, Josh Goot, Zimmerman and Garry Bigeni as they all have such unique looks and have created such strong designs that inspire my wardrobe. My favourite overseas labels are Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Rag and Bone and Acne.
Q. How would you describe your sense of style?
Early 90's, classic, simple, vintage with designer staples are key for me. I say in the end it is how you wear fashion not what is fashion. You could walk down the street in the lastest runway outfit but if you lack confidence, it shows. Walk down the street in something that makes you sway your hips with attitude and allure, love yourself and fashion will love you.
Q. Tell us about your biggest fashion splurge?
I have always been very smart about the way I shop. I make sure everything I buy are staple pieces that I really love. This year I used online shops to fufill my fashion needs and have been splurging out on them instead of walking down the street with bags and bags of clothes.I really love Alexander Wang this year and have done the big splurge on his deisgns from a tote bag and clutch to black boots, the list goes on.
Q. Who do you draw inspiration from in terms of both fashion and beauty?
I love the effortlessness of Kate Moss, I think the way she holds herself both in the way she looks and and wears is inspirational, she is creative and proud to be an individual.
Q. Can you share some of your beauty secrets?
Through the busy months of travelling and work when my skin really needs a pick me up, I book myself in for a treatment at my favourite skin clinic. I use a gentle day and night moisturiser for my sensitive and dry skin.
To clean my face I use a simple cleanser as anything too harsh can take away from the skin what it naturally needs. The typical and overlooked beauty secret is lots of water. What you put into your body shows on the outside, so a healthy diet is most important.
I prefer to wear very little make up on my days off to let my skin breath which is key to keeping my skin clear for the next job I have. The most important beauty secret of all is sleep, everything sparkles after a good nights sleep.
Q. As a professional model, what has been your career highlight to date?
I like to think my next job is a career highlight. I love what I do and continue to dream of where this is taking me with such amazing experiences and people crossing my path I can hardly believe it sometimes.
Q. What does a normal working day involve for you?
A normal working day for me would be on set shooting. Each day is different, but the best part is arriving on set and meeting the team for the day.
I thrive on the creative ideas of each shoot as it's never the same and it allows me to embody the team or the products character like a changeling.
I like to think it's always the end result that we create together as it's never one person that brings the shoot alive so when I turn up on set I am part of the team and part of the magic of the day.
